QMUL's Mile End campus is on the Central and District lines — Bethnal Green, Bow Road, Stratford and Stepney Green give students short commutes and noticeably lower rents than central London.

Queen Mary University of London is based in Mile End, at the eastern edge of Zone 2. Mile End station is on both the Central and District lines, which means students have two independent routes into central London and can reach most of the city in under thirty minutes.

Bethnal Green, one stop west on the Central line, is one of the most popular choices for QMUL students. It has a strong independent food scene along Bethnal Green Road and Roman Road, and the ten-minute walk to campus is straightforward.
